Cadillac recalling 50,000 CTS models worldwide over potential handling fault


General Motors and the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration have a recall of certain 2009 and 2010 model year Cadillac CTS-announced models. Publication includes approximately 50,000 units worldwide, 11 147 were sold like this in the U.S..

According to NHTSA could lock nuts on the vehicles' suspension resolve over time, eventually allowing the tie rod completely separated from the vehicle. When this happens, could spin the rear wheel or decrease, thereby steering the vehicle difficult. GM says that may own a metallic Clanking noise in the rear of the vehicle to hear a warning before this happens.

So far, no accidents or injuries as a result of the defect were reported, although NHTSA warns that, if left untreated, owners could learn a loss of control.

GM says that they charge to install new lock nuts and replace the rear suspension track rod as necessary. A recall schedule was not yet established, but owners should hear something. Hit the jump for the full recall.

GM expands axle pin recall to include more pickups, SUVs



It seems that General Motors has discovered that the defective axis cross pins responsible for a current recall have been installed in more vehicles than originally thought. The automaker has expanded the recall of a total of 26 751 vehicles from the 1262 units in the original notice. From now on certain 2011 Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Avalanche, are Colorado, Silverado, Suburban and Tahoe models, and GMC Canyon, Sierra and Yukon models included in the latest recall.

As before, the vehicles were built with rear cross pins that may not have been heat treated. As a result, the pieces might slip and break. If this happens, the defect could actually cause the rear axle to lock while driving. Needless to say, the issue could easily cause an accident.

GM replaced the pins for free, if the memory is not scheduled to run until 25 January obtain. The company says that while an owner had a loss of power to the rear axle as a result of the defect, no injuries were reported. Hit the jump, a look at the full remember to take notice.
