Infiniti takes us behind the scenes in World's Fastest Hybrid vid
Nissan apparently wants to get as much mileage as the "Duel" can be staged between its Infiniti M Hybrid and the Porsche Panamera S Hybrid. You will remember the location where the ribs M35h through the quarter-mile in less than 14 seconds, ahead of the Porsche hybrid. Infiniti has announced Guinness World Records is the fastest accelerating full hybrid last year, which served as inspiration for the shooting of the online advertising.
Now, a new video posted on YouTube and shows some behind the scenes of the filming of the ad. It's not exactly earth-shattering stuff, like the pieces we found most interesting were the pictures from the camera chase car, other than an Infiniti or a Porsche, but is actually a Mercedes-Benz M-Class.
While we liked the place, the second had others look at us with her go-round. We always wonder about the effectiveness of your brand compared to others when it is made clear, to try and rub some of this gloss on its own competitive identity. And so secure by throwing a name that we associate closely with obesity twins motorcycles? We may get the M hybrid, and we are happy to tend to look at it, but if Toyota really wants to impress, we would like to have some comparisons with competing products to see, like how they on a road course leads, or even how it fits with non-hybrid models.
2012 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR makes world debut at Sebring Test
The first Porsche 911 GT3 RSR in 2012 have made their first appearance in the United States, ahead of their competition debut in the American Le Mans Series. Although the machine is called with the name 2012, the latest GT3 RSR is actually still based on the 997 model, not the latest version of the Porsche 991 long-running 911 series.
However, there are plenty of updates that make them interesting to GT3, race car driver. For starters, a mandatory air-throttle can not get enough oxygen into the 4.0-liter boxer six to 460 hp in the 310-millimeter rear wheels, the body that is 48 millimeters wider than before supply is required. Like the 911 Turbo models new air scoops in the rear fenders to be installed - just a small part of a completely revised aerodynamics package.
Three images of the 2012 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR in race trim during the shakedown test at Sebring was released, and you can see above. A full press release after the break, if you're so inclined.

Video: Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 takes to the track
The 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 certainly has the statistics of the kick-ass track car. Who can argue with a naturally aspirated, 4.0-liter straight-six minutes with 500 hp, a 8,250 rpm redline and a 7:27 Nurburgring time? Equally exciting is the fact that the GT3 RS 4.0 only 2998 pounds soaking wet, thanks to weigh a variety of weight-saving measures such as light carpet and lots of carbon fiber. And when was the last time you saw a street-legal production car with front plates dive down has power?
You know what we do otherwise? Video of the GT3 RS 4.0 on the track. After the jump is video of the 997 911 last iteration of the Porsche test track breaking developments in Germany. While you're at, you can also learn more about the Porsche GT 4.0 of chief Andreas Preuninger. It is a pity that we only have $ 184,948 under the GT3 RS 4.0 's are starting price of $ 185k, because we certainly one of the 600 owners would have to be these 911 long-term in our garage. Video: Porsche resurrects 1900 Semper Vivus full-hybrid for Geneva display
Think of the Toyota Prius was the first hybrid car ever? Think about it yet. Honda Insight? Keep rates. In reality, the world's first hybrid was designed and built by none other than Ferdinand Porsche, father of the modern Dr.-Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart. That's right, the same brain that brought us, as ingenious as the machines Volkswagen Beetle and the Auto Union racers glorious built the world's first fully functional hybrid car.
Now that today's brain-trust again Porsche interest in hybrid technology, the German company decided to return the 1900 Semper Vivus, which literally kept alive. Although the technology has come a long way behind hybrids - Porsche's first hybrid about 4,000 pounds of lead-acid batteries are used and could not climb any kind of class - the basic principles are actually pretty equal.
Namely, as the original Semper Vivus, Porsche newest hybrid, the 2012 Cayenne S is equipped with a hybrid engine (in this case, a supercharged V6 333 hp out of service) (added the other 47 horses), an electric motor and a battery. All important little things are the same, only with massive improvements in performance and efficiency.
To celebrate 111 years of hybrid cars, Porsche spent the last four years rebuilding the Semper Vivus, and it will show the fruits of his work at the Geneva Motor Show fast approaching 2011th In an effort to stimulate our appetite, the automaker has a teaser video that you see for yourself after the break, published together with the required release.
Porsche buffs go searching for great German beer... deep in the heart of Texas?
A good road trip needs a few terms for success, great people, interesting attractions and of course the right vehicles. We can not vouch for the people on a personal level in this story, but Autoweek took a road trip to Texas and seems to get the ingredients just right. How to vote to six Porsches, 800 miles and four breweries sound? As long as the water occurs when the driving is done (which of course was there) would then be correct to say it sounds like heaven on earth.
Autoweek Jeff Bolton began looking for good German beer, with good German sports car shuttle him around the Great State of Texas. Starting in Dallas, is moving on the team until they end up in Shiner, Texas, where they met with longtime brewmaster Jimmy Mauric chat.
If road trip came to awards, this would Texas Porsche beer run early leader for Best of 2011th Go to Autoweek to read about the trip, and make sure the video too.

Video: Mark Webber on the "naughty" Porsche 911 GT2 RS
Mark Webber, or Webbah as we claim, as he prefers, is an accomplished racer with a handful of wins and podium finishes at the top of mororsports plateau. It's safe to say that he knows how to drive a car, and he knows what he wants his street car. His car of choice? The Porsche 911 GT2 RS.
We do not need to really explain why drivers would choose a 620-horsepower track-ready road bombers. Porsche, however, felt like Webber discuss the car and it has so roll with the cameras. Video: German Nissan GT-R guerilla marketing campaign borders on vandalism
The GT-R is an aggressive car, and Nissan has taken aim at Porsche owners in an aggressive marketing campaign. A team of ladies in Germany driving a brand new GT-R have taken to the streets, targeting parked Porsches. Armed with a removable decal that the tail-end of a Nissan GT-R shows, the ladies of the "ad " takes on the windshield of the Porsche. The Porsche owner back to his car, sits down and sees the GT-R tail lights stared after her.
It sounds funny, but we prefer that people have their hands out of OPP (yeah you know me ... anyone?). Click past the jump to watch the clip and hear your thoughts in the comments, this ingenious marketing or toeing the line of vandalism?

Why cars can cost 3x as much in Australia despite currency parity with the U.S.
Right now, the U.S. dollar and the Australian dollar Didjaerawollabuck about as evenly as possible evaluated. If that's the case, why are Australians to double or even triple what we pay to pay to buy a car?
Neil Dowling leaders saw the car in this huge discrepancy and found several reasons for the differences. The United States usually buys 30 million cars per year, while Australia buys about one million. Like any product there is a discount for buying in bulk. In addition, Australia mandates its own emissions and the costs of compliance with these rules is passed on to consumers. Beyond emissions and volume, Australians pay for the cost of cars up to their distant southern location to make. All these factors increase the price of a car in Australia, but one of the biggest reasons for the increased cost is taxes.
A Porsche Carrera S would run a U.S. buyer 88,000 $ before the inevitable plunge into the bottom less pit, that the Porsche options list. In Australia the same car will cost an incredible $ 282,800. The Australian market, Porsche is saddled with a luxury car tax, import VAT and goods and services tax. These taxes can also turn a $ 66,230 Lexus LS U.S. prices to a $ 191,200 Australian cheap wallet buster.
On the other hand, the Australians always vehicles that are highly specced. Mercedes-Benz Australia says that the local S-Class one of the best you can buy everywhere in the world. The level of standard equipment Australian vehicles is greater than what we see on NA-specced cars. In addition, the average wage in Australia nearly $ 10,000 higher per person per year. You do not like to swallow easily pay nearly $ 300,000 for a Porsche Carrera S, but shows the Aussies are on average earn better wages than us Yanks.
RUF Automobile to test three versions of electrified Porsche 911
Porsche is not the only, electrifying their vehicles. As the production plans for ten tests with three different engine versions documented, one could argue that tuning house Ruf Automobile GmbH has a deeper development program than the famous German auto manufacturer itself.
We had by this time that would be the company offers its Pfaffhausen Greenster or Stormster the public expects, but that does not seem to be the case. What we are instead a data logger equipped swimming pool is being built by eRUF built on the 911 platform with the help of Siemens and the government.
The three Porsche 997 Carrera bodied Petri dishes include a single with an engine bolted a single-speed transmission that juice extracted from a 29 kWh battery. This package is only good for 150 km (93.21 miles) per charge, not the 00-60 dance in an almost respectable seven seconds.
Further, a transversely-mounted twin motor arrangement that an automatic two-speed transmission uses up to 335 hp (250 kW) to get to the rear wheels. With a 36.6 kWh battery in an air-conditioned housing, this little piggy got a Market 200 km (124 miles) away and sprint to 60 mph in a wolf game of five seconds.
The third system repeats the previous motor and battery setup. The main difference is in the gear boxes or we should say, since each engine has its own. It has an independent rear-wheel drive that can take advantage of computer-controlled torque vectoring. Its performance is also compared with the other dual-engine setup, with the exception of a lowered top speed of 180 kph (112 mph) down from 220 kph (137 mph). We hope that what it gains in high speed cornering, it loses.
Reputation is at least one of the new eRUF the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, where we hope that they allow for some hood awareness fun. Hit the jump for all the details released.
