Spoiler Alert: Daytona 500 winner makes history
When you save your 2011 Daytona 500 viewing experience for a later date, you should go ahead and skip this post all together.
Still with us? This year marks the 53 Paved over the biggest race in NASCAR, and thanks to a completely new track, the event saw a record market share of 74 lead changes among 22 drivers. The new sticky asphalt also led to a lot of side-by-side race with more than a few pile ups as a result. But all this carnage was to open the door to a very unlikely winner.
Wood Brothers Racing took home the checkered flag for the first time since 1976 with 20 years old Knoxville, Tennessee native Trevor Bayne behind the wheel. Never heard of him? We are not surprised. The Daytona 500 marked only to start his second Sprint Cup Series. Bayne led in the last six rounds and successfully fought off a last minute rush by Carl Edwards to take home the $ 1,460,000 purse and become the youngest winner of the Daytona 500 While Bayne was only scheduled to run five races with Wood Brothers this year, could change this victory only to his schedule.

Report: Army wins fight to keep spending money on NASCAR sponsorship [w/poll]
Minnesota Congresswoman Betty McCollum is a Democrat looking for areas where the budget can be reduced. Her current goal is to military spending. More specifically, it focuses on the Prohibition of Military money from advertising in NASCAR. She introduced a measure in that sense, and it was by a vote of 241-148 shots.
The U.S. Army spent $ 7,000,000 in 2010, a car in NASCAR sponsor and has a signed contract with Stewart-Haas Racing, put their logo on a car in 2011. In contrast, the Marines, Navy and Coast Guard all NASCAR sponsorship ended in 2006.
McCollum believes that money in this area is an inappropriate use of military means. Ramsey Poston, NASCAR managing director of Corporate Communications, sees things a little differently. According to data gathered from 2009 from Experian, one of five NASCAR fans have served in the army, while one in three of the sport are active duty members of fans. Also leads the army declared that it was recruiting 46 000 in 2010 thanks to the racing team.

NASCAR marks 10-year anniversary of Dale Earnhardt's death at Daytona 500
It was 10 years ago today announced that racing legend Dale Earnhardt Senior died while competing at the Daytona 500. It is no secret that not every motor sport is a fan of the NASCAR scene afficianado, but there is no denying the absolute ability and presence, the racers to bring the game both on and off the track. Nowhere was this more evident than with Earnhardt, who jumped from a long line of circle track racers. Even though series fans rooted for another driver, Earnhardt they respected his down-to-earth nature and old-school approach to racing. When Earnhardt was behind the wheel, it was clear he was not there to make friends or play nice. He was there to win.
While Earnhardt's death was a tragedy on many levels, we can not help but feel that NASCAR lost more than a symbol, when he passed. The current area is too polished by nameless media machines, the heart and the human emotions that inhabited the old-timers brought to the table deficiency. Maybe this is the reason why we can not simply bring us the front of the television flop for 500 laps more.

ESPN: Ford submits Mustang for 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup approval
Forget the Fusion, Ford makes a move to the Mustang for Nascar Sprint Cup Series to bring. Ford NASCAR informed decision that it wants to start the race Mustang in the top left-handed racing.
Replacing the fusion is a process that could last all year, and Ford will be required to show that the Mustang a competitive car it is the same race against will. The reason for the move is that the fans are demanding a car right from the showroom floor, they see on television every weekend mimics can now wants to show.
As fans of the round Roundy are already known, the Blue Oval is already a Mustang race in the NASCAR stock car - in the Busch Series. The pony car is shown above its competition debut last July at the U-Bahn Jalapeno 250 at Daytona International Speedway.
We do not understand you can buy exactly the same Mustang that is hunting down rival drivers in every county. In fact, we already know that you will not be able to purchase something like a Sprint Cup Mustang for the street. But Ford knows that millions of people tune in and show their favorite drivers and brand support. At least on some level by the Mustang into the mix makes more sense, as the production car looks real driving thrills for their owners. Moreover, in contrast to the merger, it is actually used in a coupe body style in NASCAR.
Now ... If we succeed in the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge bring to show up with the Challenger, we could be on the verge of something special. Thanks for the tip, JR!
