Jaguar Land Rover names new chief executive for North America

Need someone to run the a British car manufacturer? Rent a German. Or at least someone who has worked for a German automobile manufacturer. Rolls-Royce will run from Torsten Müller-Ötvös, a longtime BMW executive. Bentley is led by Wolfgang Dürheimer, a former Porsche exec. Aston Martin is headed by Ulrich Bez, who worked many years for BMW and Porsche. Notice a pattern here?

Well, Jaguar Land Rover is a new leader for its North American operations and surprise surprise, has announced that he comes from Porsche. With current president Gary Temple retired, Andy Goss (the smiling guy right), with the reins as president of Jaguar Land Rover North America.

Goss came to the job from his current position as CEO of Porsche Cars GB, where he led the German automaker's operations in the UK. Previously, he worked at Austin Rover, Citroen, Nissan, Lexus and Toyota. So he has plenty of experience, although most of them in the UK and not in the region he will now jump to the cat and the Green Oval was the interception. Official announcement after the jump.
