Report: GM clears way for controversial Russian investor to back Saab
General Motors still owns a hefty shares in Saab. The number of shares that actually block in a position of a shareholder Vladimir Antonov. Mr. Antonov is chairman of the Conversbank Financial Group, which owns a substantial stake in the Dutch car manufacturer Spyker, and he has the desire, expressed part of the Saab. Now, GM is reportedly ready to take him a financial interest in the company.
GM hesitation came from reports that Mr. Antonov was involved in organized crime. Antonov, that he the target of false allegations, and has since deleted his name from the use of private investigators. In the past, Antonov said the opening of a Saab plant in Kaliningrad, Russia.
