Aston Martin releases details on 2012 Virage Coupe and Volante

Aston Martin has taken the wraps of the new Virage Volante and Virage Coupe. Both models in the automaker VH-based architecture - that they are "new" ... somehow - and are meant to slot in between the DB9 and DBS in the lineup. The bonded aluminum chassis with aluminum, magnesium and composite body panels replaced, the famous 6.0-liter V12 with 490 hp and 420 laid-pound-feet of torque. The standard transmission (a rear transaxle) is a six-speed automatic 'Touchtronic 2' transmission and helps provide a 0-60 of 4.5 seconds and maxing out at a top speed of 186 miles per hour.

The suspension is double wishbones at all four corners with Aston Martin Adaptive Damping System (ADS) with Sport Mode standard. The wheels are 20-inch alloys to carbon-ceramic disc brakes on all four corners (six-piston front calipers, four-piston units in the rear), mounted with Pirelli P Zero tires standard.

No word yet on pricing or availablity (free to read the press release after the break), but we are getting all the details on the new tinted Geneva Motor Show next week. Driving impressions come to expect ... soon.
