Hyundai Sonata mid-October, announced that its 2011 Hybrid would be eligible for a $ 1,300 tax credit. The electrified midsize sedan has been planned to plop the merchants end of 2010 and the first 60,000 buyers to take a little cash in line for the Sonata hybrid would I sunk that credit. However, there was a catch: the Sonata hybrid was delayed, dashing any chance of snagging the $ 1,300 credit.

What caused the delay? Well, made by Hyundai Chief Executive Officer John Krafcik, last-minute changes to the vehicle "virtual engine sound"system, "surprisingly late in the process" was the culprit. The automaker originally developed, the Sonata hybrid with a feature that drivers would disable the vehicle pedestrian warning system, but after the Senate and voted for a measure requiring hybrids and inexpensive plug-emit in cars to automatically audible sounds at low speeds, Hyundai manual disable functionality had to be canceled.

According to Green Car Reports is required, that an amendment to change the vehicle wiring harness, user interface software and instructions that caused the long delay. Hyundai Sonata 2011 delivered the first hybrid in January.
