Ducati takes AMG's place with special edition Cigarette speedboat

For most people, two companies, but Three's a Crowd. If you are looking for real power, however, could be a little menage-a-trois just what the proverbial doctor ordered. Case in point: Mercedes AMG, Ducati and the Cigarette Racing Team. It makes muscle-bound automobiles, the other some of the fastest sport bikes in the business, while the third makes speed boats, so can pretty much get away on the water. Strange bedfellows? We would call them kindred spirits, and they all jumped into bed together.
AMG and Ducati, as you can remember shacked together in Los Angeles last year when they announced their partnership in the MotoGP series. AMG partnership in a similar way with the Cigarette Racing Team in Miami, where a special report liveried offshore race boat for the 2010 Miami International Boat Show. Now, the nautical equivalent of the Detroit auto show is coming back again, but this time it's Ducati and a cigarette that does not get wet, and this is their love-child.
At the site of the 2700-hp 46-foot AMG version of last year, the cigarette 42X Ducati Edition is a 42-foot speed boat with a pair of 1,100 hp Mercury Racing engines at speeds of over 120 miles per hour. It's fast, no matter which way you look at it, but on the open water, it is madness in fiberglass. Cigarette says that it contains a number of innovative new features in the boat design, but Ducati participation seems largely limited to the badass coloring.
