Report: 64 axed Chrysler franchisees file suit against U.S. Treasury

In June 2009, Chrysler ended relationships with 789 brands in an effort to reduce its dealer network by 25 percent. Some of these dealers not too high you think of the movement that orchestrated in part by the Federal Government. As a result, 64 former Chrysler franchisees allegedly filed a lawsuit against the Treasury of the United States and were at least 130 million U.S. dollars of damages.

Was the movement to stop these dealers a violation of the U.S. Constitution? According to the lawsuit, violated the Automotive Task Force of the fifth amendment, which essentially says that property can no longer be taken for public use without just compensation.
