2012 Porsche Panamera S Hybrid unveiled ahead of Geneva debut *UPDATE
Porsche has just announced that it expanded its hybrid fleet with the addition of the Panamera S hybrid. Set in the next month Geneva Motor Show debut, the big sedan will come to the party package has a combined 380 hp, says a character Porsche is good enough to get the machine mph to 62 in six seconds flat on the way to a top speed of 168 miles per hour. A total of 333 of these ponies are derived from the company supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine, while the remaining 47 hp will be operated by an electric motor. An eight-speed automatic transmission handles shifting detail, says Porsche, the Cayenne S can be operated either by the hybrid internal combustion engine or electric motor or clumps of them in tandem.
Power for the electric grinder is stored in a traditional nickel-metal hydride battery, and a regenerative braking system charges the cells during the delay. Overall, Porsche says the system is well combined 41.5 mpg on the UK-cycle of works on the 34.5 mpg here in the good old U.S. of A. Depending on how you carry one.
With the introduction of the Panamera S Hybrid, Porsche now offers a total of six variants of its sedan. These are the most recent herd will carry a prize of £ 86,146 in the UK (around 138k USD, but the UK has massive VAT), and so far the company has not said whether the U.S. can expect to get his hands on the car. However, we would be surprised if the new hybrid Panamera has not made its way across the pond at some point in the near future, given America's penchant for gas-electrics.
