Hyundai Sonata Wagon? Comely i40 revealed ahead of Geneva debut

Ahead of his debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, Hyundai has released the first pictures and details of the new i40 wagon. Developed at Hyundai's European site in Rüsselsheim, Germany, the i40 in Europe will be launched in the form of car before the sedan follows later this year.

Hyundai will present the latest design language, which i40 packs a lot of features you'd normally expect to see on a high-end products - like their Genesis and Hyundai Equus models, for example. The package includes features such as heated and reclining positions front and rear seats and an intelligent de-mist system that automatically keeps the windshield fog-free.

The question of relevance to North American consumers, however, is whether the i40 makes Stateside as a counterpart to the car Sonata sedan. We know that both the majority of our readers and a couple of important people at Hyundai of America want it, but we must wait and see if everyone gets their wish. In the meantime, you can watch the two pictures in the gallery below and extent of the new features in the press release after the jump.
