Rumormill: BMW Megacity to get optional range-extender


As more details trickle out over the next Mega City EV BMW, will we learn that the electric city car designed with a small internal combustion engine, offered to the dead battery while driving replenish. The news of BMW Financial Officer Frederick Eichinerto the German website Focus.de is delivered is as interesting as the Mega City first report was only a pure EV.

With a lightweight carbon-fiber chassis, BMW Mega City has plenty of room front to record on the optional engine without worries, so that customers have the choice of leaving the room will empty equipped (to increase luggage capacity) or the internal combustion engine (increased to reach). The megacity use lithium-ion batteries with a reported 35 kWh capacity, and is expected to have a pure EV range of about 100 miles. Good news for customers still full of fear range - The range extender engine should add significantly.
