Report: GM displeased with Volt's low rating from ACEEE

How to determine how environmentally friendly a car is? Will certainly fuel efficiency are taken into account rather high, as well as all types of exhaust emissions. But that is only part of the story. Remember that there are many ways to power a vehicle, gasoline, diesel, electricity, or combinations thereof. Plus, you must determine what actually is going on in the production of the vehicle and get it in the hands of consumers.
As you can see, the allocation of environmental quality to our current crop of cars and trucks is far from an exact science, and the results will no doubt how much value is put off put on a certain factor. And so it is not surprising that there are a number of different views on the latest green machines on the market, and can the 2011 Chevrolet Volt, more than any other application.
The American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy released a list of green vehicles per year. In the past, the Honda Civic GX compressed natural gas parlayed his suspension in a victory at the ACEEE report. We will not quarrel with that determination, and we also do not see any problems with the all-electric Nissan Leaf earn the silver position ... but that's where things get worse. The Smart Fortwo will be the number three, the Toyota Prius, Honda Civic Hybrid and Honda Insight followed. The next five slots are filled with compact cars and small sedans and hatchbacks.
You wonder, where does the Volt? Such was Chevrolet. In an interview with Forbes, GM spokesman Rob Peterson had this to say:

Their logic would escape the majority of consumers. If one see the EPA ratings for the smart fortwo at 33 city and 41 highway, it is actually less than the Volt is run down in the electric stove. We are against the Smart punished because our car is a four-seater with a battery and therefore weighs more. And we lose to the paper, because we have a gas engine. But you really have to, to see how the car is actually used - not their methods add up.
No matter your personal opinion is one thing for sure: As more and more category-bending vehicles on the market, this issue is not resolved any time soon.
