The new 2012 BMW 650i Convertible is for even bigger and heavier than most competitors, but there are a number of notable changes to the updated car. Designer filed off some of the bold curves for a little more subtlety. Power from the 650i twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 is now sitting on 400 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque - up 40 hp and whopping 90 pounds-feet of the last generation 6 series - and the six-speed transmission was replaced with a slick eight-speed unit. All good things, and judging by the fact that BMW has launched the online configurator 650i Convertible, it seems, this is great droptop ready for prime time.
The price starts at $ 92,375 even $ 875 is for the target, and the dreaded $ 1,000 gas guzzler tax is applied. The price is only from there, with packages such as driver assistance systems ($ 3900) and premium sound ($ 1,800) to fix things over the $ 100,000 mark.
