Rumormill: GMC Acadia's future uncertain

Word is found that the GMC Acadia is back on the chopping block. You may recall, in that the big crossover to find themselves in dire straits even if the entire GMC brand experienced a strategic review during the General Motors bankruptcy. After that brush with death, decided to give the decision makers in the company for the entire brand - and by association, the Acadia - a stay of execution. Now a new report suggests that the next generation Acadia scrapped, the product information reduce overlap within the GM dealer network.

General Motors currently produces three Lambda-based crossovers - the Chevrolet Traverse, Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia - and the company says that keeping it will overlap to a minimum for the Buick-GMC dealer. Expect the next generation of lambdas in 2014 in the 2015 models, but even if the Acadia is deleted, it is likely that GM still maintain a trio of models from the three-series platform, accessible only to Cadillac, the third model GMC instead. Thanks for the tip, Ed!
