Report: Porsche to hire 1,000 employees as it ramps up for Cajun


Porsche thanks its worldwide sales at about 200,000 per year to double. This is an ambitious goal for a niche company, but Porsche intends to things happen by using more money and personnel. AutoWeek reports that the German automaker plans to hire 1,000 employees to 2015. Half of the workers is to strengthen the company's upcoming small crossover that has been given the working title of "Cajun", while the other half needed engineers, will be to develop new vehicles. Another 500 employees could be added by 2018 if sales targets are met.

AW claims that Porsche expand its lineup 4:00 to 7:00 models to reach its sales goals achieved, while also wants to fork over to 750 million euros (1.01 billion U.S. dollars in U.S. funds) to upgrade its plant in Leipzig.
