Report: Ram Trucks will not offer hybrid pickup to consumers

Were you waiting long promised Ram Chrysler Hybrid Pickup? Bad news: found common ground in conversation with PluginCars.com, Ram Trucks CEO Fred Diaz, that idea on the ice when he said bluntly. "Truckers do not want to buy hybrids"

We are not sure truck buyers as much anti-hybrid, since they are not willing to cough, the necessary money to bring are useful in hybrid technology to their pickups. Either way, General Motors full-size hybrid truck to the market on fire, and there are few signs of Chrysler would either, unless the car manufacturer to offer, they were at a very reasonable price. That seems unlikely.

For now, it seems that the only hybrid Ram pickup trucks offers have been announced recently, put in the models that were developed with the help of federal grant stimulants over a $ 48,000,000 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and a separate $ 5,000,000 grant from the Canadian government. A total of 140 PHEV Ram truck fleet customers in the coming months will be offered.

The good news for mileage-conscious buyers pickup is that Diaz suggested other technologies Fiat probably make their way into the Ram truck at some point. Multiair and light diesel as a good starting point sound ...
