Will Ford replace Ka with production version of Start concept?

If the rumors surrounding the internets on the Ford Ka to be believed, the little three-door may be looking at the end of the line ... eventually. Inside Line reports that Ford made bigger waves to show a production version of its concept debut on the market as a replacement for the Ka and the new car is likely to come packing a small three-cylinder EcoBoost engine under the hood. Legend has it that direct injection, turbocharged 1.0-liter can be good for as much as 120 horsepower while going easy on gas. The production version of the starlet 2010 Beijing Motor Show is expected to achieve a price tag of $ 13,000 and the arc in markets like India, South America and China before spreading to the rest of the planet. Right now, there is no indication as to whether or not the start will be shown in the U.S., but it could be a viable competitor to the likes of the Fiat 500 and Mini Cooper. Of course, rumors say that the departure is not intended for production until 2014, so it could all be smoke and mirrors. Moreover, there is no clear indication that although the production car is based on Start, it will not be called Ka when it arrives.
