Report: Fiat union passes contract, paving way for Jeeps to be built in Italy

Baseball, apple pie, Stars and Stripes ... and Jeep. What do all these things have in common? They are all classically American. Or are they? It seems to be that in future Jeeps, especially the replacement for our current Compass and Patriot, probably used in Italy on the same line, fitted to Fiat to build Alfa Romeo models. This jeep would then be imported to America.

The plan to build Jeeps in Italy is working forward with a Fiat plant in Turin, Italy, voted 54 percent in favor of a new contract, among other places limits workers ability to strike or simply do not appear to work around holidays (yes, seriously). In return for these concessions, Fiat has pledged one billion euros in the system pump tools for new Alfa Romeo and Jeep models.

This plant is expected to buildings for sale Alfa Romeo and Jeep vehicles through the fourth quarter of 2012. Half of the production is intended for European distribution, the other half will be exported to North America.
