Report: Mitsubishi building crossovers and sedans Stateside in two years



Despite posting a three percent increase in sales compared to 2010, Mitsubishi is struggling here in the United States. The vast majority of those in the automaker's portfolio slow sellers, but with the Lancer and Outlander families gain much in the way of high praise from both the media and consumers alike. Nevertheless, Mitsubishi has plans to soldier, and a report from Automotive News that the Japanese car manufacturer is looking to increase production of some of its sedans and crossovers in the United States shift within the next two years.

Currently, the automaker's plant in Normal, Illinois builds the Galant, Eclipse and Endeavor, but these vehicles will be phased out by 2013. Will be mounted in Illinois - Moving forward, Mitsubishi's new family of vehicles on the platform, the Lancer, Outlander Outlander sport and supported base - vehicles that are under construction in Japan. Mitsubishi currently has no plans to replace all of the previous models cited presently provide built here in America.
